Dear UCLA Nursing Community,
Welcome to the 2023 Fall Quarter! I hope each of you found time to rest and recharge over the summer months and are looking forward to the start of a new academic year.
To our incoming class of students, new faculty and staff, as well as all those new to our school – welcome to UCLA Nursing! We’re thrilled you have chosen to be part of our community. To those returning – welcome back! I look forward to celebrating your accomplishments and watching all you achieve.
This year will be filled with meaningful opportunities, fresh perspectives, and inspiring challenges. Our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement will drive us forward, shaping the future of Nursing that we aspire to create together.

Welcome Week Events
New Student Welcome
Tuesday, September 26, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
UCLA Neuroscience Research Building (NRB) Auditorium
This school-wide welcome program will feature our Faculty, Staff, new and returning students. There will be presentations by the Office of the Dean of Students, UCLA Health, our Director of Student Success, and a very special keynote speaker, Assistant Vice President of Nursing Services at AltaMed. Light breakfast will be provided along with a community-builder activity in Westwood Village, and an optional campus tour for those who would like to join.

Thursday, September 28th, 4pm-7pm
CHS Courtyard
All SON students invited and encouraged to attend. Meet SON student leaders and learn about the extracurricular engagement opportunities available with our student organizations. Light refreshments and SON swag item will be provided. This event will provide a great opportunity for all students to network and learn more about how to get involved with our student organizations.
