Education

Dr. Badr received her BSN from the American University of Beirut, in Lebanon in 1973, her masters in Maternal Child Nursing in 1974 from Texas Women’s University in Texas and her PhD in 1984 from Boston University and her Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certificate from UCLA, California in 1994.

Teaching

She started teaching in 1974 and has taught in Lebanon (AUB, Balamand and LAU), in Boston (Curry College and University of Mass) and in Los Angeles (UCLA the PNP program and in the PHD program at Azusa Pacific University). She is a tenured, emeriti professor at the University of California in Los Angeles. Her expertise in teaching is in Advanced Pediatric Nursing and Research Methods.  

Research

Dr. Badr’s program of research is related to the neurodevelopment of high risk infants. Focus is on intervention and long term follow-up.  She has received several NIH grants related to her area of research and has published over 70 articles in peer reviewed journals.

Consultation

Dr. Badr has consulted in several Middle Eastern countries as well as in Asia in curriculum development, in research methods and in the role of the Advanced nurse in health care.
