Kristen Schulz RN, MSN, AGACNP-BC, is an adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner. She graduated from East Carolina University and began work as a registered nurse at Duke University Medical Center. From there, she increased her clinical knowledge by travel nursing across the United States. She had the opportunity to work in a variety of areas including cardiac stepdown, liver transplant, cardiac catheterization laboratory, and medical surgical units. After obtaining her advanced practice degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, she became a neurosurgical nurse practitioner as well as peripherally inserted central catheter nurse for four years before coming back to UCLA as a lecturer.
