Professional Experience
Community Principal Investigator, Los Angeles. Community Partners in Care (CPIC) was a community-academic partnered research project funded by the National Institutes of Health. CPIC’s goal was to improve vulnerable populations’ sustainable access to quality depression care through community-based network building and engagement. CPIC outcomes demonstrated improvements in mental health as well as reductions in emergency room visits and hospitalizations.
Director. QueensCare Health and Faith Partnership (QHFP), Los Angeles, CA. Provided leadership for QHFP, a division of QueensCare, a non-profit public health care charity. QHFP partnered with more than 60 churches and social service organizations to conduct community health outreach and deliver the services of registered nurses to uninsured and vulnerable populations.

The award honors community-campus partnerships that are striving to achieve the systems and policy changes needed to overcome the root causes of health, social, environmental and economic inequalities.
2014 Team Science Award from the Association for Clinical and Translational Science and the American Federation for Medical Research.
