Dr. Eden Brauer is an Assistant Professor at the UCLA School of Nursing and a member of the Cancer Control and Survivorship Program of the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center (JCCC). As a nurse-scientist, Dr. Brauer’s research focuses on cancer care delivery, with specific emphasis on integrating patient-reported outcomes, supportive / palliative care, and long-term survivorship care in various clinical models and contexts. She also serves on UCLA Health - JCCC Cancer Services Committee.

Dr. Brauer has an active program of research and serves as PI on multiple projects focused on the symptom and functional experiences of cancer survivors and system-level challenges of implementing evidence-based survivorship care in routine clinical settings. Her work has been funded by the National Cancer Institute, National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences,  Susan G. Komen Foundation, Oncology Nursing Foundation, among others, and she has received numerous honors for her clinical and research endeavors. 

In addition to her research, Dr. Brauer is deeply committed to the education and mentorship of future healthcare professionals and scientists. She teaches courses in both pre-licensure and doctoral programs at the UCLA School of Nursing. Furthermore, she extends her mentorship to a diverse range of students, including undergraduates, medical students, graduate students, as well as residents and post-doctoral scholars. 

Prior to joining the faculty at the UCLA School of Nursing, Dr. Brauer trained as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center and as a Predoctoral Fellow at City of Hope. Throughout her nursing career, she has worked in various clinical roles in oncology and hematology settings. Dr. Brauer received her baccalaureate degree from Columbia University, and earned both her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from UCLA.
