Brandon Phillips joined UCLA in 2020 and has spent the last 8 years as a Simulation Operation Specialist across southern California. At UCLA Nursing, he is in charge of all of the patient simulators (running and maintaining), supply procurement, scheduling and creating environments to facilitate the suspension of disbelief, as well as providing UCLA nursing students with the highest quality learning opportunities. Previously, Phillips specialized in simulation center design and organization with a focus in audiovisual technology and has also worked for Providence ST. Joseph Health – a southern California hospital-based simulation program which supported 10 hospitals. Phillips was a member of the Disaster Response Team for Providence ST. Joseph Health and worked on many projects within the organization to restructure and align hospital processes to provide more efficient patient care and create better outcomes. Phillips is a member of SimGHOSTS and Society for Simulation in Healthcare. Additionally, he has been an EMT since 2006, spending time as a 9-1-1 ambulance operator in Los Angeles County and in the emergency room conducting patient care. His extensive pre-hospital and in-hospital care background has supported his success as a Simulation Operations Specialist.
