Barbara Demman, MSN, RN, ACNP, CNS

As a lecturer for the UCLA School of Nursing, Barbara Demman speaks on the topics of infection control, HIV and infection precautions, valvular heart disorders, burns and nursing management, NCLEX test-taking skills, and fluid and electrolyte imbalances. With extensive nursing experience, including nine years in emergency environments, Demman contributes greatly to the didactic and clinical education of UCLA’s nursing students. Students and colleagues selected Demman as the 2014 Daisy Award recipient, to recognize her contributions to the undergraduate nursing program. Demman enjoys traveling internationally to lecture and train nurses. One of her interests is in using mindfulness-based interventions to decrease burnout symptoms and com-passion fatigue among nurses. Demman keeps her clinical skills sharp by partnering with her local hospice.
