Are you interested in a hands-on learning experience in global health? The UCLA School of Nursing offers nursing students the opportunity to participate in a health experience that extends beyond the U.S. borders to learn first-hand about health education for care providers, issues of public health and patient care access and delivery.
By understanding the geographic, cultural and economic factors that impact health care throughout the world, we believe this unique opportunity will provide our students with the knowledge and cultural competency needed to, in turn, provide care, address disparities and influence health issues in this diverse community where we live and work.
Each experience is unique. Our faculty work with local organizations and community leaders to provide insights into their country's health care system. Students will interact with physicians, nurses, patients and residents.
To prepare students for their global experience, the resources listed here will provide pre-travel requirements and guidance for what to expect during travels abroad.
