Throughout the world, UCLA has become a leader in cutting edge nursing education, evidence-based practice and research collaborations. We have established 14 memorandums of understanding (MOUs) since 2010 with institutions around the world to engage in cooperative academic or research activities. Currently, we have signed MOUs with institutions in Japan, Korea and China.
Plans are underway to expand our range of MOUs.
We invite research and academic institutions to send inquiries regarding establishing a MOU with the UCLA, School of Nursing to Dr. Janet Mentes’ assistant: firstname.lastname@example.org
Some of the highlights of our efforts include:
- A second five-year hospital based collaboration with the Hong-Kong Sanatorium and Hospital to combine cutting-edge education and research with new practice models.
- Development and implementation of a new educational initiative to advance tobacco control work with nurses in China using Web-based technologies.
- Dr. Linda Sarna was one of the first nurses to be appointed as a visiting professor by the Anhui Medical University in China. In that role, she has given lectures at the university, supported research projects and provided guidance and mentorship for faculty visiting UCLA from Anhui Medical University.
