UCLA Joe C. Wen School of Nursing Associate Professor Mary Rezk-Hanna, PhD, NP, FPCNA, FAHA, FAAN, has been named Assistant Editor of Nursing Outlook, the official journal of the American Academy of Nursing, and one of the nation’s leading journals for nursing science and health policy. 

Dr. Rezk-Hanna is a nationally recognized nurse scientist whose work advances cardiovascular prevention and tobacco regulatory science, with an emphasis on health equity and policy-relevant evidence. Her research examines how nicotine and tobacco products affect cardiovascular and population health and translates these findings to inform clinical practice, public health strategies, and regulation. 

She has contributed to national scientific and policy statements aimed at reducing tobacco-related disparities and strengthening evidence-based prevention and treatment. 

As Assistant Editor, Dr. Rezk-Hanna will help guide Nursing Outlook’s innovative scholarship at the intersection of nursing, education, health policy, and health equity.
