What is the Annual Fund?
The Annual Fund is a vital source that provides much needed resources to areas not covered by the current budget, including student support, faculty recruitment and retention, program improvements, and alumni initiatives. An unrestricted gift is the most flexible kind of support that can be used in a timely manner to meet the UCLA School of Nursing's greatest needs.
The UCLA School of Nursing receives state funding, why is private support necessary?
The state provides just 13 percent of UCLA's budget and current cutbacks threaten even this level of support. Private support from alumni, parents and friends is more important now than ever to secure the UCLA School of Nursing's place among the best schools of nursing worldwide.
Why is alumni participation so crucial?
Alumni participation helps the UCLA School of Nursing secure large grants from corporations and foundations. Grant-awarding corporations and foundations consider the percentage of alumni who give as an indicator of satisfaction with the school. All of the School of Nursing's donors, no matter the size of their gift, enrich life here at the UCLA School of Nursing. Smaller gifts add up significantly, allowing our school to take advantage of opportunities as they arise.
By supporting the UCLA School of Nursing with a gift, alumni help current and prospective students achieve a world-class education. Gifts from alumni are a vote of confidence in the UCLA School of Nursing, and strengthen our school's stature. Every gift makes a difference!
