Pre-licensure Students Don Their White Coats

On Wednesday, November 5, pre-licensure students – 3rd year Bachelor’s and 1st year MECNs – about to enter their clinical immersions, were presented with their white coats during a symbolic “white coat ceremony”. The ceremony marks the student’s transition from the study of preclinical to clinicals – when the student begin meeting patients. Lee Galuska, Director of Nursing Practice, Education and Research at the UCLA Health System delivered the key note address. Following the presentation of the white coats, Jacob Merkel, MSN-MECN Class of 2016 and Yewande Sanusi, BS Class of 2016, delivered the student speeches.
