Lecturer named National Nurse of the Year

Patti Taylor named National Nurse of the Year in community service

School of Nursing Clinical Lecturer Patti Taylor has been selected as the National Nurse of the Year in the category of ccmmunity service for the Nursing Excellence Awards. Taylor has been an integral force in Operation Mend, a unique partnership among the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, and the V.A.-Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System. Operation Mend was been established to help treat U.S. military personnel wounded during service in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Taylor also took the lead in providing nursing care for injured individuals in Haiti.
