February 27, 2017- Alumna Willa Kathy Swarthout '70 Highlighted in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare

February 21, 2017- Evy Silk MSN '76 recieves Nurse Practitioner of the Year Award and 2017 AANP Nurse Practioner State Award

Evy Silk MSN '76 received the Nurse Practitioner of the Year Award by the San Diego Chapter of the California Association for Nurse Practitioners in November 2016.  Then, much to her surprise, she was chosen to receive the 2017 AANP Nurse Practitioner State Award for Excellence from California.  Now retired, she volunteers on medical missions and most recently was in the rural South Pacific where there are no surgeons or medical care for the general population. In addition, she has been selected as the recipient for the “Bridging Healthcare Needs” Award for 2017, where she will be honored at the Annual Educational Conference in San Francisco.  Read more about Evy by clicking here.

Octobor 25,2016- UCLA Asian American Studies Center appoints SON Alumna Marjorie Kagawa-Singer MSN '72

October 6, 2016- Linda Burnes Bolton MN '72, MPH '76, DRPH '88, recieves Living Legend Award

Dr. Burnes Bolton was chosen to receive the prestigious 2016 Living Legend Award from the American Academy of Nursing.  To be eligible for this award, the Living Legend must have been an Academy Fellow for at least 15 years and have demonstrated extraordinary, sustained contributions to nursing and health care.  Dr. Burnes Bolton will be honored along with four other extraordinary nurses at a special ceremony during the upcoming American Academy of Nursing conference in Washington, D.C. on October 20.  Read more by clicking here.
